Problem: You get the following error message: “Error 676 / 678 - Timed Out While Trying to connect to the Network message:
Solution: Your computer is either not detecting the HighSpeed signal, or there is a problem on the Network
- Make sure the phone cable is properly connected to the modem and the phone jack.
- Make sure the Ethernet cable is properly connected in the modem and your network card.
- Verify if the power supply is plugged into an electrical outlet, and that the modem is turned.
- Unplug all the phones in your house. If it solves the problem, it means interference is cause by one of your phones. A filter should be installed on each phone. In some cases, particularly with cordless phones or Bell's 'Vista', you may need to put two filters on the phone to solve the problem.
- Temporarily disable your firewall and try to reconnect to the Internet.
- Do you have an alarm system? It may be causing interference if it uses your phone line, and therefore require a special filter. Contact your alarm system provider for more informationn.
- Does your building intercom system uses your phone line? You may need to install a filter on it to avoid interference.
- If, after trying the solutions mentionned above, you are still getting the error message, please contact our technical support.
Problem: You get the following error message: "Error 691 -Authentication Failed" error message.
Solution: Your username or password is incorrect, or that the server is not receiving the proper information.
- Your username must include the mention of Avantages Internet (ex. userid@avantagesinternet.com).
- Your username and password must be written in lower cases(Ex. userid@avantagesinternet.com and not UserID@avantagesinternet.com).
- Make sure you entered the correct username and password. You may retype them just in case.
- Verify that the CAPSLOCK key is not activated on your keyboard.
