The modem is dialing but you cannot establish a connection to the service
If you hear the modem dial a number but do not hear the modem handshake (the noise that two modem make when establishing a connection), you may not be using the correct local access number.
Solution :

Verify your local access number, or use our Internet Dialer software.

Make sure to configure your modem connection so it is set for 10-digit dialing
- If you have a voicemail service, make sure you have no messages.
Your are getting an Error 678: The server could not respond
Your modem was not able to establish a connection with our server.
Solution :
- Make sure the modem is connected to the phone jack and that there is a phone signal.
- Make sure the phone cable you are using is working properly.

Your modem connection should be configured so it is set for 10-digit dialing
- Verify if you have voice mail.
You are getting an Error 691: Username or password incorrect
The informations you entered to connect to the Internet are incorrect.
Solution :
- Verify the spelling of your username and your password.

Make sure to type all your information in small caps. When connecting to the Internet, your username should not include “@avantagesinternet.com”
You are getting an Error 680: No Dial Tone
Your modem does not find any signal on your phone line
Solution :

Make sure your modem is properly connected to your phone jack.

Verify if you have voice mail. Reboot your computer
