RÉSOLUTION DE PROBLÈMES AVEC OUTLOOK EXPRESS

Problem:
When sending or receiving new messages with Oulook Express, the following error code appears: "no such user..0x800CCC90/92"

Solution:

  1. In Outlook Express' menu, click n Tools, then Account.
  2. Select the appropriate account in the Mail tab and click on Properties.
  3. In the Server tab, check the spelling of your username as it should be your full e-mail address (userid@avantagesinternet.com), and also the spelling of your password.
  4. Click OK to confirm changes, and try to resend/reload your messages


0x800ccc79 (Error 440/550/553)
Problem:
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server.  It could also mean our e-mail server is temporarily down.

Solution:
Verify the e-mail addresses your are sending an e-mail to.
Try reseding your messages later.


 

0x800ccc79 (Error 501/550) 
Problem:
The cause of this error is due to the fact that all our SMTP servers require authentication

Solution:
Make sure you are using your Avantages Internet connection.  When using another provider, our e-mail server will not allow any e-mail sending to protect itself from spam. 

If you use multiple Internet connections on your computer, verify if Avantages Internet is your default one.  To do so, open Internet Explorer, click on Tools followed by Internet Options.  In the Connection tab, make sure Avantages Internet is your default connection.  Click OK to confirm.

When trying to access your e-mail from outside your home, you may use our Online Mail Portal at  http://webmail.avantagesinternet.com


 

0x800ccc79 (Error 554)  
 
Problem:
There might be a mistake in the spelling of your e-mail server

Solution:
In the menu bar, click on Tools, followed by Accounts.
Click on the Mail tab to choose the appropriate mail account and click on Properties.
In the Server tab, make sure the incoming mail server is pop.avantagesinternet.com, and the outgoing mail server is smtp.avantagesinternet.com
Click OK to confirm changes.


0x800ccc78 (Error 501/553)

Problem:
The e-mail address you have configured as yours is incorrect.

Solution:
In the menu bar, click on Tools, followed by Accounts.
Select the appropriate mail account in the Mail tab and click on Properties.
Make sure your e-mail address is typed properly.
Click OK to confirm changes.


 

0x800CCC1A  /  0x800CCC18   

Problem:
Your will need to configure our e-mail server's ports in order to send your e-mail messages.

Solution:

In the menu bar, click on Tools, followed by Accounts.
Select the appropriate mail account in the Mail tab and click on Properties.
In the Advanced tab, make sure the option This server requires a secured SSL connection is not checked.
Make sure the Outgoing mail server port is 25
Make sure the Incoming mail server port is 110
Click OK to confirm.

Problem:
You have been disconnected fro Avantages Internet and your messages could not be fully downloaded/sent.

Solution:
Make sure your connection is not set up to automatically disconnect.
To do so, go in My Computer, Control Panel, followed by Modem.
Select your modem, click on Properties, then Connection.
Uncheck the option to automatically disconnect and click OK to confirm.

Problem :
The size of your e-mail message is either to large our e-mail server or your connection is shared between to many application.

Solution:
In the menu bar, click on Tools, followed by Accounts.
Select the appropriate mail account in the Mail tab and click on Properties.
In the Advanced tab, slide the Server Timeout to Long and click OK to confirm.


 

0x800CCCOE

Problem:
Although this error message may mean multiple things, it is usually expressing a problem with your antispam, antivirus or firewall software.

Solution:
Verify your security software's level of protection.  You may need to lower them in order to send and receive e-mail messages.
Try to disable your firewall software, and make sure it does not block access to ports 25 and 110, as they are needed to send and receive e-mail messages.
Reboot your computer.
